Objectives:

Students will be able to:

• Identify and manipulate the controls in Google Earth.
• Navigate to various regions of the world in Google Earth
• Insert auido, video, text and hyperlinks into placemarks.
• Demonstrate knowledge of a topic by creating a google earth tour.
• Construct a google earth tour.

Activities:

1. Instructor led guided lessons on using the controls and navigating Google Earth.
2. Instructor led lessons that demonstrate examples of Google Earth Tours.
3. Instructor led guided lesson on inserting placemarks, text, images, audio and hyperlinks.
4. Instructor led lesson on saving and organizing google earth tours.

Project Ideas

1. Create a tour that explains an event in history (ex: Lewis and Clark Expedition or Civil War Battles)
2. Create a tour with historical imagery that shows erosion, global warming, or any other science topic.
3. Create a Literature tour.
4. Take mathematical measurements and document them in a tour.
